Brandy can currently be found on the Great White Way, playing Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. She told ESSENCE “I’ve stepped into a dream that I didn’t realize that I had. I’m very free on stage and I love iT.”
And just like that, Brandy the icon has a new project in the works. The singer-actress will soon be starring in BET’S new sitcom, Zoe Ever After, this fall in which she’ll play Zoe Moon, a newly divorced mother beginning a new life and career. Congrats Brandy!
Honestly Brandy, we couldn’t ask for anything else this fantastic. In a classic moment, the ladies regrouped to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 90s hit “I Wanna Be Down (Remix)’ with an onstage performance at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2014.
How many women can boast that? The first-ever Brandy doll was manufactured by Mattel in 1999 and we swear every little girl wanted one. Brandy’s Barbie currently has its own Instagram account.
Solange recently took to Instagram and posted a photo of herself during a DJ set “probably playing a Brandy song.” Solange’s Saint Heron site even has its Brandy Appreciation mixtape. Bump it!!
Brandy first starred in The Game in 2006 and continues to play the sexy and sassy Chardonnay Pitts. This photo is a flashback to when the castmates got together at Brandy’s house to live-tweet the show’s season premiere.
In 1997, Brandy made history and became our first Black, stunning Cinderella! Whitney Houston co-starred in the now classic TV film.
“Mo to da, E to da…up in the morning, a new day is starting it’s me, it’s meeee.” Moesha, the late 90s sitcom, never disappointed when it came to giving us wholesome family values. No one shall forget the way Myles (Marcus T. Paulk) was the most annoying little brother, the way Dee (Sheryl Lee Ralph) was the graceful and classy authority of the house and how Moesha (Brandy) sported those classic braids.
