Death of a Dynasty (2003)

The hip-hop satire film features everyone from Damon Dash to Rashida Jones to Flavor Flav, but did you catch a young Kevin Hart playing Diddy? At one point, he orders his security guards to go “shake down” a kid who calls him Puffy, not P. Diddy. And with that scene, we all fell head-over-heels in love with Kev.

The Scary Movie Franchise

Yup, Kevin made a special appearances alongside Anthony Anderson (and his dreads) as CJ in Scary Movies 3 and 4. With lines like, “How the hell do you wake up dead?” and, “Yo, you might’ve just made a fact right now,” he managed to keep us laughing all through the groan-inducing flick.

Along Came Polly (2004)

The definition of a “blink and you’ll miss him” role, Kevin plays Vic, a camera man who is filming an E! True Hollywood Story (RIP). He shares the screen with some pretty big names, including Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston, and at our count, his lines consisted of a whopping 15 words.

Soul Plane (2004)

Ok, ok, we admit that we forgot that he starred in this one, but in our defense, it was before “Kevin Hart” was a household name. He plays Nashawn, a discouraged flyer who starts his own airline after suing a different airline and receiving $100,000,000 in damages. This role sounds right up Kevin’s alley!

The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005)

Kevin Hart and Romany Malco have one of the most memorable scenes in the 2005 comedy. The two get into it after Kevin walks into the tech store where Malco’s character Jay works looking for a “brotha” discount… and he takes offense when Jay refuses. “First of all, you’re throwing too many big words at me. Now because I don’t understand them, I’m going to take them as disrespect,” he yells before Jay delivers the perfect comeback: “Aim high, Willis!”

In the Mix (2005)

Kevin teams up with Usher to bring you In the Mix, an obscure film about, Darrell (Usher), a DJ, who falls in love with a mob boss’s daughter. Kev, as Darrell’s best friend, does what he does best: provide comic relief throughout the film.

Fool’s Gold (2008)

He’s going on a treasure hunt… Kevin stars opposite Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson as a Bahamas gangster intent on finding a Spanish treasure. All we can say is that this is a bit different from the Kevin we know today.

Meet Dave (2008)

TBH, we’re still trying to understand this movie. Kevin plays Number 17, one of the miniature humans who controls Eddie Murphy’s body. Oh, and Eddie is an alien. Hey, it has Kevin in it, though, so we love it automatically!

Not Easily Broken (2009)

He always pops up in the most unlikely places, doesn’t he? In T.D. Jakes’ popular drama, Kevin, playing Morris Chestnut’s friend, keeps the movie from ever becoming too serious.

Little Fockers (2010)

The Kevin and Ben Team are back for round two! In this third installment of the Meet the Parents franchise, we meet Nurse Louis (Hart), the unsolicited wing man for the happily married Greg Focker (Ben Stiller).

Modern Family (2011-2012)

No, it’s not a movie, but we would be remiss if we failed to mention Modern Family. Kevin Hart played Andre, Phil’s (Ty Burrell) “brother from another mother” neighbor. Our fingers are crossed that next season will be when he makes his long-overdue return.
