While Comic-Con was happening in San Diego this weekend, another major con was happening across the country in Chicago. Not to be mistaken for the latter, ComplexCon is a cultural festival and exhibition that brings together creatives in music, art, activism, pop culture and more. Created by Complex in 2016, the festival is another opportunity for brands, influencers, and the public to collaborate and ideate, but mostly to eat, shop, and enjoy performances. It’s also another opportunity for festival goers to show off their best fashion and beauty for their colleagues, and for the world.
In its third year the festival has retained the chill vibe of its parent company, consistently drawing a crowd with the type of downtown cool kids persona of the artists featured in Complex. However controversial the publication’s coverage of Drake, Kanye West, and the Kar-Jenner klan, we’re here for the natural hair, and flawless melanin faces that flooded the Chi-town venue over the weekend.
