When it comes to looking absolutely flawless, no one does it quite like Oprah. From the red carpet to The Royal Wedding, the media mogul always shows up looking like a true vision.
And while she is aging gracefully, like the rest of us, she too enjoys and has fun getting all made up.
Oprah’s favorite foundation? Koh Gen Do, a 32-year-old Japanese brand. According to her long-term makeup artist Derrick Rutledge, Oprah wore the brand’s Moisture Foundation in shades 302 and 303 to celebrate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials.
The brand, which started with a search for natural skin protection, has since become a cult-favorite and well-kept secret amongst industry professionals. It’s packed with traditional Asian botanicals and rooted in homeopathy and has several foundations and skincare products. The foundations have an amazingly natural finish and provide the perfect amount of coverage that lasts throughout the day.
And while we’ve long been fans of Koh Gen Do, it is important to note there is quite a bit of work that needs to be done to expand their foundation range, something the brand has acknowledged to ESSENCE. But if you can find your shade, there’s no doubt you’ll love it since it is Oprah-approved.
