Chances are you don’t think of makeup when you hear the names “Lion Babe,” “Dej Loaf,” “Halsey” and “Tinashe,” but those are the game changing women who MAC turned to for their newest collaboration, the “Future Forward” campaign. Each leading lady made her debut on the Billboard charts for the first time last year and have been influential in the music biz ever since. Each inspired by different aspects of music: RnB/Pop, Rap and Funk— each collection will reflect the artist and draw from things inspired by their album.

Senior Vice President and Creative Director, James Gager look forwards to working with emerging artists stating, “It feels like a great thing to be able to support artists who are breaking through but aren’t necessarily at the top-top, to push them forward.” “We’ve always done that sort of thing with fashion designers, and to me, it’s most interesting to introduce these artists, as well as our MAC fans, to new people,” he continued.

The Future Forward collection will make it’s debut on March 17 rolling out with Tinashe’s collection, a “Times Nine” eyeshadow palette, which will retail for $32 exclusively on maccosmetics.com. The palette, whose name was inspired by a track on her upcoming sophomore album, “Joyride,” is a cosmetic reflection of the RnB crooner. Tinashe was involved in the entire design process from the packaging to color selection. “I got to design the packaging, pick out the colors and create something that I felt like I would use,” she exclaimed in an interview with Billboard.

A few weeks later, rapper Dej Loaf’s warm-nude lipglass ($15) will debut on April 14. The classic lipglass delivers that same high shine that you love from a MAC gloss and the rosy-nude hue compliments all skin tones. Finally, the collection with close with Halsey’s smoky grey matte lipstick and Lion Babe’s fierce gold liquid liner which will be available for purchase on April 28 and will retail for $21.

The full Future Forward collection will be available on maccosmetics.com
