Master The Shape

“The inner edges of your brow should line up with the outside of your nose,” says Nad’s CEO and brow expert, Sue Ismiel. “The highest point of your arch should be where the diagonal line extending from the outside of your nose to the outside of where your pupil would hit. And, the bottom of your outer and inner edges should line up horizontally.”

Determine Ideal Thickness

We’ve all seen thick brows that look messy and, frankly, rather scary. Don’t be that girl. Your brow shape should follow its natural thickness. Draw a line above and below the brow with a brow pencil (we like Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Stay-in Place Brow Lift Duo) and only pluck around the designated area.

Pluck with Caution

If you don’t learn anything else, remember it’s important not to over pluck. Brows help frame our face, and if they are too thin you won’t look like yourself. Be smart and only pluck what’s necessary. Also, remember to clean your tweezers after each use with alcohol.

Ask The Pros

Sure, we’re all independent women and can do most beauty-related things ourselves, but every now and then it’s great to see a brow pro. Even if it’s only once a year, ask a professional about getting your true brow shape.
