Long story short: shopping for Black girl-friendly makeup can be downright stressful. There are a myriad of brands with limited color options, leaving those with darker tones to choose from a very small list of shades.

Thankfully, this anxiety-inducing experience doesn't translate to the entire makeup spectrum. Eyeshadow is probably the easiest to shop for, simply because there are countless colors to choose from, all of which look exceptional on brown skin.

And when we need a little motivation to paint our lids, we look to the red carpet for inspiration. Case in point: Condola Rashad sporting this cobalt cat eye at an event for the SDC Foundation.
