While you may think of Justine Skye as only singer, the Roc Nation recording artist is also on her way toward becoming a makeup mogul. Known for her fun and adventurous beauty looks, the vocalist recently launched a beauty platform called Metix. Skye has teamed up with some of the best makeup artists in the in the industry to create digital master classes you can access anywhere. “I’ve always loved beauty and my followers are always asking me about my glam, which is why I created Metix,” Skye tells ESSENCE. While traditional master classes cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars, Skye has done away with that. She, along with her co-founders, Jamie and Jenna Harris, wanted to ensure this information was affordable so that it could be accessed by her entire fanbase. “I really wanted to bring the power of beauty to everyone,” Skye says. Subscribers sign-up for the $29.99 classes on the brand’s site Metix.com where they’re given access to classes indefinitely. So unlike live classes where you’re tied to only your notes or what you can remember, Metix allows you to watch and practice creating looks over and over again. Each class will feature a different high-profile artist and model. First up, is celebrity make-up artist Joyce Bonelli. Bonelli is one of the best in the business and has a long list of celebrity clients. Watch the trailer for the first class below.
