Get The Look: Cynthia Bailey at Betsey Johnson's Spring ‘15 Show

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey put on her modeling cap during NY Fashion Week and hit the runway for Betsey Johnson’s Spring/Summer ‘15 show. Betsey, known for hot pink female-empowerment pieces, opted for dramatic makeup to compliment the silver, halter wedding gown Cynthia modeled. “Betsey wanted an imperfect, but perfect smokey eye, says Kelly Thompson for Kryolan Professional makeup. “A look that’s slept in, but still nice.”

Read on to get Cynthia’s look!

The Face

Thompson used Kryolan’s HD Micro Primer followed by Kryolan’s HD Micro Foundation Cream, a micronized foundation for great coverage. Next, Thompson used Kryolan’s Coral Cream Blusher to give light color on the cheeks, and highlighter Illusion in satin and silk was patted just on top of the cheekbones.

For the eyes, Thompson used Ebony HD Cream Liner as a base with black eyeshadow from Kryolan’s Variety 1 Palette. Eyelashes were key for this look so Thompson stacked Kryolan Lashes #9354 and #9361 F4 on the top eye. Kryolan Lashes #9372 and #9371 TV4 were used for the bottom lashes.

To finish the look, Thompson gave the lips bold and intense color with Faceliner #32 filled on the entire lips and then topped with Kryolan “Rock” Lip Stain. Last but not least, a Swarovski Crystal was added on the cheek as a beauty mark.

The Nails

“We wanted a multidimensional layered shimmer look,” says Danielle Candido for Morgan Taylor Lacquer.

Start with a base of Morgan Taylor’s Oh Snap It’s Silver. Add sheer cream In The Nude. Build another layer of glimmer with Oh Snap It’s Silver. FInish color by sponging on metallic shimmer Bronzed & Beautiful. Add loose foil. Secure embellishments.

The Hair

“I call this look the modern day messy Marilyn Monroe,” says hairstylist Rafe Hardy of Sexy Hair. “It’s big and messy, but not trashy!”

For longer hair, cornrow one braid (from right to left) in the nape of the neck. Pin middle section of hair into the braid to create faux bob—don’t remove these pins. (Tip: bend the end of a hairpin upward to ensure pins will stay in place.) Curl the top portion of your head, secure with pins until ready to release. After removing pins, brush lightly in an upward motion and apply Sexy Hair Spray & Play volumizing hairspray.
