Revlon Global Brand Ambassador Halle Berry attended the 66th annual Emmy Awards on August 25th pairing a smokey eye with a subtle blushed lip. Inspired by the soft dusty rose tone and classic style of her Elie Saab gown, Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist, Kara Yoshimoto Bua, created a warm bronzed smokey eye to accentuate Halle’s eyes.
Chanel Celebrity Makeup Artist, Kara Yoshimoto Bua, created a warm bronzed smokey eye to accentuate Halle’s eyes. She used REVLON ColorStay 16H Eye Shadow Quad in Adventurous.
“To create a softer and sexier smokey eye, stay way from dark greys and blacks and use warm browns and burgundys with red undertones that compliment all skintones,” says Bua.
To add subtle hints of shimmer, Bua used CHANEL Glossimer in Sweet Beige.
Makeup artist Carola Gonzalez used Kerry’s navy blue skirt that she wore under her dress as inspiration. “It was a very beautiful blue and we agreed on complementing the skirt with a dynamic blue eye, which I don’t recall doing before,” she says. “With the eyes being the center of attention, I decided to go with a nude beige, and Neutrogena’s Warm Caramel lip color was the perfect shade to seal the look.”
“To prep Kerry’s skin, I always use Neutrogena’s Visibly Even Moisturizer and Shine Control primer on her face,” says Gonzalez. “The moisturizer adds the perfect amount of the hydration and the shine primer reduces oiliness on t-zone, which is a must in red carpet. I then moisturize Kerry’s lips with Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm. It really helps to keep lips moisturized and diminish appearance of dryness on lips. Leave for at least 20 min before lipstick application.”
For the eyes, I used Neutrogena Crease Proof Eye Shadow in Forever Platinum layered over Diorshow Fusion Mono 281 Cosmos Eye Shadow, blended on crease and lined lower lashline. Then, I lined her upper and lower lashline, right where lashes connect with the skin, around the eye area and inside bottom lashline with Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner in Twilight Blue.
Prepping the skin is key to radiant glow, so I started by adding a few drops of liquid bronzer into her moisturizer and massaged it into her skin. Then I applied Cargo’s HD Picture Perfect Pore Refining Primer all over her face and using the Artis oval 8 brush, buffed a semi matte foundation into her skin. Next, I used my ring finger to apply Cargo One Base concealer in 045 (a deep peach color) to brighten her under eye area and used the Artis Oval 4 to buff in concealer in 05 ( mocha colored) to other areas of her face that need a bit more coverage.
I started by brushing her brows into place and then perfecting the shape with Cargo Dark brow pencil and brushing one coat of clear brow gel, to hold them in place. Cargo Swimmables eyeliner in Black Sea was applied to the waterline, lashes (top and bottom) with 2 coats of Cargo HD Picture Perfect Mascara (used a clean mascara wand to separate the lashes) and applied a few individual lashes to the outer corners of her eyes.
