Once upon a time Black women were told that blue makeup didn’t suit them. We were told that blue eyeshadow, red lipstick, pink blush, and other vibrant colors didn’t look good on our dark skin.
Then one day Black women decided that they would choose what makeup colors they could wear, no one else would make the choice for them them. And we discovered that all those colors, including an array of blue hues, look dazzling on melanin-rich skin. In fact, blue is especially complementary for brown skin tones.
