Every year, Pantone comes out with a color for the following 365 days, sending designers and beauty development teams scrambling to include it in their collections. Though the company originally started in commercial printing, it rose to fame with its color matching system, which soon became a go-to for many fashion houses and beauty brands alike.
Fortunately for women of color, Pantone’s annual shades tend to be bright whimsical hues that complement the skin color of the fairest sister, to those with the deepest tones, and in between (remember 2013’s emerald?).
