Loretta Devine is one of Hollywood’s true veterans. She’s done Broadway, TV and Movies and kept us entertained all along the way. Devine got her start in the early ’80s and ever since then she’s been delivering laugh after laugh on both the big and small screen. In the beloved drama Devine played Marla Hendricks, a social studies teacher trying to do right by her students despite the odds.

Waiting to Exhale

Devine played sassy single mom, Gloria Matthews in the now iconic movie co-starring Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett and Lela Rochon.

Kingdom Come

“Kingdom Come” was a joy to watch and Ms. Devine delivered a great performance. With LL Cool J, Whoopi Goldberg, Vivica A. Fox and Jada Pinkett Smith, there wasn’t much down time.

Grey’s Anatomy

Loretta plays Dr. Webber’s wife, Adele on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ And even on this drama filled show, she manages to bring a bit of sass to the TV screen.

This Christmas

Comedy seems to be Devine’s strong suit. In 2007, she certainly brought the Whitfield family many laughs on their first family gathering in four years.
