“It really started when I started being free with what I did with my hair,” India Arie said in an exclusive interview with TV.com, where she detailed the process of recording the song, “I Am Not My Hair.” “That’s when I started writing that song. I can actually do whatever I want. I mean, it’s my hair. It’s funny that I ever thought I couldn’t.”
