Idris Elba Wins Best Actor Golden Globe for 'Luther'

The oh-so-sexy actor walks away with a Golden Globe.

ESSENCE November cover star Idris Elba won the Golden Globe award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Movie, for his performance in the BBC America drama “Luther.”

On the show, the British actor plays the socially awkward detective John Luther, whose methods of crime-solving are considered a tad strange by his colleagues.

The win ends an exceptionally great season for Elba, who also starred in the summer blockbuster “Thor” in 2011.

This year Elba stars in the sci-fi dramas “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance” (out February 17) and “Prometheus” (June 7), and is rumored to be up for a lead role in a Nelson Mandela biopic.

Congrats, Idris!
