The movie’s lead actor, David Oyelowo, who plays Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., nabbed a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama; its director, Ava Duvernay, is nominated for Best Director – Motion Picture; and “Glory
,” by John Legend and Common, was nominated for Best Original Song – Motion Picture.
The adorable Quvenzhané Wallis was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in Annie
On the television side, Orange is the New Black
walked away with three nominations, including Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical. Other nominees in the category include Girls

Uzo Aduba also landed a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren. Taylor Schilling was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical.
Viola Davis, star of the hit How to Get Away with Murder
, was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama. On a lighter side of things, Don Cheadle was nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical for his role in House of Lies
