The 10th annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood event, held Thursday night at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, honored stars like Issa Rae, Aja Naomie King, Yara Shahidi and Janelle Monae, but the magic didn’t stop there.

In a photo that personifies what it means to be Black and excellent, past and present honorees of the annual event gathered for a photograph that we won’t soon forget.

In the name of sisterhood, legends like Angela Bassett, Diahann Carroll, Alfre Woodard and Loretta Devine stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Tracee Ellis Ross, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Shonda Rhomes, Quvenzhané Wallis and Orange is the New Black castmates Danielle Brooks and Vickie Jeudy and more, proving that the level of poise, power and perfection in a room full of Black women is undeniable.

This year, Insecure creator and star Issa Rae received the Vanguard Award from last year’s Legend Honoree, Debbie Allen. Hidden Figures star Janelle Monae was given the Breakthrough Award by her dear friend Pharrell Williams. Black-ish’s Yara Shahidi earned the Generation Next Award from her TV mom Tracee Ellis Ross, who was honored during the 2016 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood event with the Fierce and Fearless award. How To Get Away With Murder’s Aja Naomi King was presented with the Rising Star Award by her costars Viola Davis and Alfred Enoch.

This photo is definitely worth more than a thousand words! You can find more on ESSENCE’s Black Women In Hollywood event, here.
