The best and the brightest in the arts were honored by President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2011 Kennedy Center Honors in Washington D.C. last night.

This year’s honorees included jazz great Sonny Rollins, actress Meryl Streep and singer Neil Diamond.

Raphael Saadiq, Smokey Robinson and Lionel Richie paid tribute to Diamond by singing classics like “Sweet Caroline” and “She’s Got the Way to Move Me.”

The Kennedy Centers Honors will air on December 27th on CBS.

Here’s a peek at the evening’s VIP attendees.
