Always down to lend a hand in the effort to improve our planet, Lena Waithe teamed up with Mercedes-Benz on the second installment of their How To series. The Emmy Award-winning screenwriter teamed up with the luxury brand during London Men’s Fashion Week to give her favorite clothes a new lease on life.

The talented creative hopes to put an end to the world’s wasteful habits by encouraging people to remix some of their favorite pieces–aka, upcycling. An expert on the practice himself, Christopher Raeburn–founder of the namesake brand and Global Creative Director of Timberland–guided Waithe through the process.

Aside from being an amazing screenwriter and the creative force behind the BET’s Boomerang, Netflix’s, Master of None and autobiographical drama The Chi, Waithe has passion for sustainable clothing with impeccable design.

Her partnership with Mercedes-Benz aligns perfectly with the brand’s Ambition2039 initiative for a more sustainable future, which includes new fleet of carbon-neutral passenger cars and production plants.

To commemorate the second launch of the How To series, Waithe hosted a panel discussion with Raeburn, Dutch designer Duran Lantink and stylist Aleali May–the first female to collaborate with Jordan Brand.
