Curls Not Getting In Formation? This Hat Will Help You Slay, Even on Bad Hair Days
Even with the right hair products and perfect technique, there are still times your curly hair refuses to let you be great. It happens to the best of us. What’s a girl to do when there’s no time to re-wash and redo your hair, when you still want to leave the house looking halfway decent?
Of course, the quickest fix, as you know, is to hide your unruly curls underneath a hat or turban. The problem with most hats, however, is that they don’t accommodate thick and full voluminous curls or a puff ponytail — at least until now, that is.
Designed for us and by us, the Tress cap is the best solution when your curls won’t cooperate. That’s right, no more forcing your textured coils through a tiny hole at the back of a hat or squashing your stretched afro underneath a dad-style cap.
“Three years ago, I was getting ready for a date, and my boyfriend was rushing me, so I didn’t have time to wash and diffuse my hair,” Rolle revealed in an interview with Allure. “I thought I would just throw on a hat, but I tried on what felt like a hundred, and none of them would fit over my curls, so I said, ‘I’m going to invent a hat for us. I’m not the only one who can’t do this.”
At first glance, the Tress cap looks like your typical trucker hat, but the devil’s in the details. The black vegan leather cap actually features a large cut-out in the back for thick, natural hair. Not to mention, the design includes a satin lining on the inside to protect your curls.
That’s right, no more frizz and flat hair. The high-crown design and three built-in elastic bands in the back also allow it to stretch wide enough to accommodate a puff or high ponytail. The Tress Cap is available in two different sizes for $45. Rolle also plans to release more colors and texture designs in March.
Although the Tress cap is the first of its kind, in terms of design, Beyoncé’s athleisure line, Ivy Park, also launched a velvet backless cap for curly-haired girls in 2017.
Unfortunately, the popular cap has been sold out for months. But thanks to Rolle’s smart creation, you can now rock your puff and less-than-perfect curls without looking like a complete struggle on bad hair days. You’re welcome.
