Two of music’s most prominent young voices are continuing to make a big splash on the 2019 award season.

Rounding out the whopping seven Black Panther Oscar nominations announced Tuesday morning, rap superstar Kendrick Lamar and R&B starlet SZA (real name: Solana Rowe) landed their very first Oscar nominations in the category of Best Song for their collaborative soundtrack standout, “All The Stars.”

While neither Lamar nor Rowe have taken to social media to react to the exciting news just yet, their Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) record label president, Punch, sent out a celebratory just as the nomination was announced.

The pair kicked off the year with a Golden Globe nomination for the song, which was certified double platinum in the U.S. last May with Lamar at the helm as executive producer of the soundtrack. The well-deserved nominations for “All The Stars” mark the second year in a row of notable award-season accolades for SZA, as last year’s award season saw her become the most nominated woman at the 2018 Grammy Awards for her chart-topping debut album, CTRL.

The Black Panther soundtrack has also scored a massive eight Grammy nominations total for this year, which includes four nominations for “All The Stars.” For a look at the full round up of Oscar nominations and category break downs, click HERE.
