Since tying the knot in November with new husband, Alexis Ohanian, tennis champ Serena Williams has been on cloud nine. In the months, weeks and days leading up to their wedding, Williams revealed that planning for her big day was like being in a “dream world.”
Sharing a behind-the-scenes look at her wedding dress fittings, the 36-year-old posted images via Instagram to show what it was like prepping for her fairytale wedding.
Gracing the latest cover of Brides magazine, Williams offered up a glimpse of her planning process, including her bridal fitting appointments. Along with debuting the cover, featuring a photo of her Sara Burton-designed Alexander McQueen gown, the star also shared an additional cover shot that showed off her stunning reception gown by Donatella Versace.
Wearing a cape with both looks, the new mom and newlywed said donning the accessory was a requirement for her big day–because she is a superhero after all.
“This @donatella_versace @versace_official was a dream come true. The cape- well I needed a cape. My two dresses [were] the best dress[es] I’ve ever worn This is on new stands now. I still am hoping someone invents a time machine so I can relive the wedding. (And eat the beignets) thank you @brides and I love you @donatella_versace photography @melbarlowandco @allanzepedaphotography,” Williams captioned a photo.
Williams and Ohanian wed in New Orleans at the Contemporary Arts Center on November 16th.
