Hundreds of fans lined up Tuesday to say goodbye to their queen — Aretha Franklin.

The iconic singer passed away last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer, her family revealed in a statement. She was 76.

Franklin, who adopted Detroit as her hometown, is laying in repose inside the rotunda of the city’s Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. She will continue to lie in repose until Wednesday, followed by a musical tribute on Thursday and a private funeral being held on Friday.

The singer’s casket is open, allowing fans to get one last glimpse of Franklin in her golden casket, wearing a red suit complete with bright red pumps.
