Bobby Brown Thinks 'Being Broken-Hearted' Killed Whitney Houston
Bobby Brown Performs for First Time Since Bobbi Kristina's Death
Bobby Brown has been through and seen it all, and in a new interview with Rolling Stone he’s candid about his struggles and open about the death of ex-wife, legendary singer Whitney Houston, and their daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown.
February marked the six-year anniversary of Houston’s death, an event that still feels a little unreal. Reflecting on her death, Brown recalls, “She was really working hard on herself to try to be a sober person and, um [pauses] she was a great woman.”
He adds,”I don’t think she died from drugs.”
Later, Brown clarifies that, while drugs played a part in her death, the source of all her troubles came from something else. The R&B singer attributes Houston’s death to “just being broken-hearted.”
And, Brown is still dealing with that heartbreak and the loss of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who passed away in 2015 after six months in a medically-induced coma. Bobbi Kristina was found face down in the bathtub of her Georgia home. Her fiancé Nick Gordon was found legally responsible for her death.
Brown says he still feels justice hasn’t been served. “He’s still walking around free…If he was locked up somewhere where somebody can rape him. That’s just how I feel. He raped me by taking my daughter away.”
In June 2017, Gordon was arrested for allegedly assaulting girlfriend Laura Leal. Fulton County D.A. told reporters that the assault may have an affect on the on-going investigation of Bobbi Kristina’s death. “It goes without saying that the arrest of Nick Gordon in the Florida domestic violence case will certainly add an additional layer of evidence to the final resolution of this matter.”
Currently, Gordon is reportedly sober and working as a landscaper in Orlando.
