8 Clump-Free Mascaras That Makeup Minimalists Will Love
It seems new mascaras launch every week with the promise of fuller, bigger and longer lashes. What they don’t advertise is the clump that comes along with it. You know what I'm talking about; the thick, gunky, lashes-stick-together-when-you-blink clumpy. As a makeup minimalist, I love feeling au naturel, but sometimes a bare face doesn’t do it for me. When I want a boost, mascara tends to be the go-to that adds a feminine touch to my look. One thing we’ve noticed when searching high and low for the best natural looking mascaras is that it’s all about the brush and how it grabs the product. When brushes are super wide and have thicker bristles, product is going to gather and turn to gunk. Steer clear of the thick stuff and covet these mascaras when you simply want better lashes that don't go overboard.
NARS Audacious Mascara
There are over 200 bristles that make up this mascara brush! We love that this offers major separation to give the lash line a fuller look. $26, nordstrom.com.
e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Lash Tint Mascara
This is my go-to for a relaxed makeup day. The super skinny applicator brush combs through lashes and leaves a tint, but doesn’t thicken or volumize. It’s definitely best to awaken tired eyes on a no makeup day. $4, elfcosmetics.com.
Perricone MD No Mascara Mascara
When a skincare brand has top selling mascara, you’ve got to give it a shot. There are 2 types of bristles that will lift and lengthen lashes without all the clump. Bonus: There’s a lash conditioning serum inside the tip for extra conditioning. $30, sephora.com
Too Cool For School Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara
This ain't called escalator mascara for nothing. Girls, this wand is adjustable. You can make the brush longer or shorter depending on how long, plump and curled you want your lashes. Sounds like a winner to me! $25, sephora.com.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Feather Noir Ultra Skinny Lash Discovering Mascara
These bristles are so small, it’s hard to see them. Though it’s ultra thin, the formula packs a punch. If you’re looking for something you can build from barely there to dark and lovely, this is the one for you. $24, sephora.com.
Clinique High Lengths Mascara
When your lashes are stubby little things, of course you want to add some length. This curved, fine-tooth brush is perfect for lengthening even the tiniest of lashes. $18, macys.com.
It Cosmetics! Tightline Mascara
No lie, our beauty editors fight over this mascara. It gives major length in the most natural way and we can’t get enough of it. $24, ulta.com.
Shu Uemura Ultimate Natural Mascara
Oh Shu Uemura, you’ve done it again. This guy is a total keeper for the girls who don’t want a barely-there look, but don’t want major clump. It’s the perfect in between and give lashes a huge boost in definition and curl. $50, amazon.com.
