Season two of Underground is on the way and three new faces have been added to the talented cast!
The first season of the groundbreaking new WGN series chronicled the experiences of a group of courageous young slaves and the people who lent a hand to help them as they began their journey across the country to freedom. The follow-up season is sure to bring even more challenges and unexpected obstacles for the Underground characters, and among the new storylines added will be that of Underground Railroad pioneer Harriet Tubman.

True Blood star Aisha Hines will take on the role of Tubman, while Scandal actress Jaskia Nicole, Justified actor Jesse Luken and Rosewood’s Michael Trotter will also join the season two cast in recurring roles. Fan-favorite Amirah Vaughn, whose performance in season one has led to an expansion of her character from recurring to series regular, will return to reprise her role as Ernestine.
The new cast additions will join returning season one stars Jurnee Smollet-Bell as Rosalee, Aldis Hodge as Noah, Alano Miller as Cato and Christopher Meloni as August Pullman, among others.
Filming for Underground season two begins August 29 in Savannah, Georgia.
