Comedian Martin Lawrence, who’s behind the ‘90s hit sitcom Martin and has had over twenty years of success in Hollywood, shares a birthday with Akon and Chance The Rapper (April 16).

The legendary comedian teamed up with Showtime for the long-awaited special.

It's been 14 years since Martin Lawrence's 2002 Runteldat special and while Martin has made fans laugh in various comedies since then, many have longed for the comedian to take the stage for another stand-up special. Now, the wait is over.

SHOWTIME and Lawrence announced yesterday that the network and comedian have teamed up in a new special, Martin Lawrence Doin’ Time: Uncut.

Filmed live at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, the special will touch on Hollywood, sex and relationships, President Obama, Bill Cosby, and more.

Lawrence told Variety, "I look forward to having my third concert film premiere on Showtime. Fourteen years is a long time between concert specials and I am excited to know that my TV audience will be able to enjoy this show as if they came to see me live."

The special comes on the heels of Lawrence's national tour and will premiere Friday, September 9 at 9p.m. ET.
