Lee Daniels is bringing another series to FOX. The Empire creator already has a new show, Star, debuting this fall on the network, and now FOX has purchased a dramedy from Daniels and producer Brian Grazer.

While the new show doesn't have a title, according to Shadow and Act, it does star stand-up comedian Ms. Pat and reflects her upcoming memoir. Ms. Pat is one of five chilren raised in a single-mother home that survived on welfare. By 15, Ms. Pat had two children, sold drugs, was shot twice and arrested a number of times.

She also raised her sister's four children and lived on welfare and in Section 8 housing before discovering her knack for telling funny stories and pursuing a career in stand-up.

Ms. Pat, along with Daniels, Grazer, Pam Williams, Effie Brown, and Francie Calfo, will executive produce. There's no premiere date for the show yet, but with Daniels behind it and Ms. Pat at the center, the show is sure to have audiences glued to their televisions.
