Kerry Washington is notorious for balancing a very public career while maintaining a private life. But when she hit the red carpet in May at the Met Gala, she confirmed pregnancy rumors with a not so subtle gesture, announcing baby number two.

In an interview with People, the star dishes on what prompted the big reveal.

“I hadn’t been public about it,” said Washington, noting that she still hasn’t technically made a statement regarding her second pregnancy. “I knew by the Met Gala that I wouldn’t be able to hide [my pregnancy].”
