Chiwetel Ejiofor is currently in talks to star in a new Netflix biopic, Come Sunday, about Bishop Carlton Pearson.

Pearson was a renowned evangelical minister in Tulsa, Oklahoma, who, after an epiphany he believed was from God, claimed that there was no hell. In 2004, his peers declared him a heretic and eventually Pearson lost everything and was forced to rebuild his life.

The project has been around for years with Jeffrey Wright originally being considered to play Pearson. According to The Hollywood Reporter, production is scheduled to begin in January.

Come Sunday is just the latest high profile film in Netfix's lineup. The streaming giant is also slated to release Bright starring Will Smith and a film about the Panama Papers is also in the works.
