Omari Hardwick is a busy guy these days.

Not only is the actor an ESSENCE cover star for the July issue and gearing up for the season 3 premiere of his hit Starz drama series, Power, but the married father of two is also lending some of his time serving as a mentor to some pretty notable names.

Hardwick revealed to ESPN that among those he shares words of wisdom and advice is newly crowned NBA Champ Kyrie Irving.

The 24-year-old Cleveland Cavalier reached out to the star and two have developed an incredible bond.

"Kyrie asked me I want to say maybe January without giving too much of our relationship away, 'how did you embrace and stop running from all that you could be' and I thought first of all to be 24 years old and ask me that was pretty powerful."

The actor revealed that with his atheletic background including baseball, basketball and football, it's "dope to be paying it forward to use [his] platform at this moment" in order to interact with some of the best athletes of this time helping them be the best he can.
