Yes, the Obamas were as cute then as they are now!
If you’re half as excited as we are for Southside With You, the new flick chronicling the Obama’s first date, then we’re about to make your day.
We have an exclusive first look at the poster for the film, which opened to rave reviews at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
The movie, released by Miramax and Roadside Attractions, details Barack’s attempts to woo Michelle on their first date (though she repeatedly tells him that no, it is not a date). The couple traverses their way through Chicago, stopping at an art institute fundraiser and the movie theater before winding up at an ice cream parlor.
“Southside With You stands as something unique, even audacious in American independent movies: a fact-based presidential ‘prequel’ that seeks to present two iconic world figures as convincing and relatable romantic leads,” a critic from Variety wrote of the film.
Watch the trailer below, and keep an eye out for the film when it hits theaters August 26.
