The Associated Press is reporting that Prince died of an opioid overdose last month at his Minnesota home. He was 57.

Prince was found unresponsive on April 21 at his Paisley Park mansion. According to reports, the singer was unconscious in an elevator when authorities were called. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Currently, investigators are looking into whether a doctor had been prescribing Prince drugs in the weeks leading up to his death.
