Black truly does not crack.
It's been 28 years since Vanessa Bell-Calloway stole the scene in Coming to America with a few unforgettable one-liners, but a recent snapshot of her recreating her character for a photo shoot would make you think it was only yesterday.
Vanessa is apparently working on a project to commemorate the 28th anniversary of the film and she gave fans a peak at what's in store with a single, stunning photo posted on her personal Instagram page. Outfitted in the same iconic gold dress, signature high ponytail and paired with matching gold accessories, the 59-year-old actress is the spitting image of her 29-year-old self, back when she first made the character famous.
Following her role in the 1988 classic, Vanessa has maintained a steady career in both television and film. On the small screen, she was seen in recurring roles on notable shows like Boston Public, Jada Pinkett's Hawthorne and the Showtime series Shameless. She also landed spots in several major motion pictures including The Brothers, Love Don't Cost A Thing and Cheaper By The Dozen. Most recently, she appeared opposite Tika Sumpter in the 2015 Sundace Film Festival favorite Southside With You, a film chronicling the early years of President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama's relationship.
Black truly does not crack and this gorgeous woman is living proof!
