Hundreds of fans gathered outside Spike Lee’s offices in Fort Greene, a neighborhood in Brooklyn, to celebrate Prince after news of the legendary singer’s death.

India Arie Remembers Prince: ‘This Just Feels Too Soon’

Lee paid tribute to the late singer via Instagram and announced the block party shortly after. The invitation read:

“PRINCE We Love You Shockadelica Joint” A celebration of his life.

We will dance, sing and shout to his music.

Wear something purple.”

The street was brimming with fans dancing and singing to Prince songs all night long. It was a heartfelt celebration of an icon gone too soon.
