Oprah Winfrey attended her first ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood three years ago as an honoree.

At this year’s luncheon—celebrating Debbie Allen, Tracee Ellis Ross, Nina Shaw—Oprah shared how the power of love that radiates in the room is something she holds dear to her heart. It’s what happens when Black women come together in sisterhood.

“What I deeply felt, I know what everybody feels when you’re in this room together, it is the magic of our sisterhood,” she said. “It’s magical, it’s like fellowship, you know what that is. It is the warm and welcoming love of all the brilliant women that we are surrounded by today.”

Watch as she shares nuggets of love, praise and admiration.
