The rapper is scheduled to perform in Pennsylvania this weekend.
Earlier this week rapper DMX, real name Earl Simmons, was found unconscious at a hotel. Police in Yonkers, New York, responded to a call Monday night about an unconscious man in the parking lot of a Ramada Inn. Police would not release the man’s name, but the rapper’s lawyer later confirmed the news.
Numerous celebrities, including Swizz Beatz and Questlove, sent their well wishes to Simmons when news broke, offering prayers and hope for a speedy recovery. And, thankfully, their prayers have worked. Simmons’s lawyer confirmed that he was released on Tuesday and there seems to be plans for the rapper to perform Saturday at a concert in Pennsylvania.
His lawyer stated that Simmons, who suffers from asthma, had stopped breathing Monday night, but did not know the cause.
