This year’s Oscar nominations mirrored one particular trend that was evident during the 2015 awards show: the lack of diversity in Hollywood.

While the issue is no laughing matter, the resurgence of the social media trend #OscarsSoWhite created chuckles while calling out Academy board members for blatant white-washing of one of Hollywood’s biggest nights.
