Believe it or not, Straight Outta Compton is still making headlines weeks after its initial release. Not only did the NWA biopic scored the No. 3 box office spot for the third week in a row, but it officially became the highest-grossing musical biopic... in history. The previous record holder was Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic, which made $119 million. However, Straight Outta Compton surpassed that, grossing $134 million in only three weeks. So far, the movie, which follows the rise and fall of the hip-hop group, has grossed an unbelievable $200 million—$161 million domestically—bypassing Scary Movie's record of $157 million. Just days after its release, Straight Outta Compton made history as the highest-earning R-rated film released in August, and most recently, it became the highest-grossing musical biopic.

And the NWA monopoly isn't over yet: The film has yet to be released in four countries, including Spain and Russia, which means that the movie's prowess will only continue to grow.
