When it comes to discussing the beef between Meek Mills and Drake, Nicki Minaj is not here for it.
During an interview with The New York Times Magazine, Nicki Minaj was asked about the current hip-hop beef between her lover, Meek Mills and her labelmate, Drake, however, Minaj showed zero tolerance when it came to the subject.
The interviewer asked Minaj: ‘‘Is there a part of you that thrives on drama, or is it no, just pain and unpleasantness—" to which Minaj quickly retorted.
‘That’s disrespectful,’’ she said. ‘‘Why would a grown-ass woman thrive off drama? What do the four men you just named have to do with me thriving off drama?’’ (The interviewer also asked about Lil Wayne and Birdman). She continued, ‘‘Why would you even say that? That’s so peculiar. Four grown-ass men are having issues between themselves, and you’re asking me do I thrive off drama?’’
Minaj was not quite finished yet.
"That’s the typical thing that women do. What did you putting me down right there do for you?’’ she asked. ‘‘To put down a woman for something that men do, as if they’re children and I’m responsible, has nothing to do with you asking stupid questions, because you know that’s not just a stupid question. That’s a premeditated thing you just did.’’
Shortly before she ended the interview on her own terms, she made sure to let the interviewer know that she was ‘‘rude," ‘‘a troublemaker’’ and also said, ‘‘Do not speak to me like I’m stupid or beneath you in any way.’’
Her final statement: ‘‘I don’t care to speak to you anymore’’-- and the boss lady walked off, leaving the interviewer alone to wonder why she ever had the audacity to ask such a question in the first place.
In case you missed the lesson learned: don't come for Nicki. She will absolutely leave you hanging.
