‘Tis the season for college graduations.
As graduates walk across that stage and prepare to enter into the real world, they’re inundated with words of wisdom: “You can take any path you choose;” “Everything you’ve learned thus far comes to this;” “Life is what you make it.” Good advice, but sooo generic.
Don’t you wish that someone had come up to you and kept it real? Something like, “It’s okay to change your career path post-grad!” or “There’s no shame in moving back home while you figure things out.” The motivational stuff is great, but it would have been really nice to hear the truth.
If you could go back in time and tell your recently graduated self one thing, what would it be? Would you offer her some real-world advice, or try to steer her down a different path? Tell us what tidbit you wish you knew!
