‘I Wasn't Blackballed — The Offers Didn't Make Sense’ Mo'Nique Responds to Lee Daniels

Mo'Nique fires back at director Lee Daniels about being blackballed in the industry.

According to Mo'Nique, comments made by film producer and director Lee Daniels about her being blackballed in the industry are false. In fact, the Oscar-winning actress says she was offered roles, but they didn’t make sense to her.

In an interview with CNN, Daniels claims the actress made unreasonable demands in Hollywood, and that she should “play ball” because the industry “is not just show — it is show business.”

Mo'Nique fired back.

“It wasn’t that I was blackballed like Mr. Daniels said… the phone was ringing and the scripts were coming but the offers that were associated with them made me say ‘I can’t accept that,’” she said to CNN Tonight reporter Don Lemon. “If we continue to accept these low offers, how do we make a change?”

Currently Mo’Nique is putting big screen movies to the side and is concentrating on independent films.
