Well, that was quick!

Just two days after its season two premiere, BET has already renewed Being Mary Jane for a third season, much to the elation of Mary Jane viewers everywhere. Gabrielle Union, broke the news on The Today Show this morning, where she joked that the show's renewal was a huge relief to her accountant (he can rest assured that her mortgage will be paid, she said).

"In Hollywood, we never have that luxury, ever, of knowing where our next check is coming from, so [the renewal] gives us the freedom to just work," she told Matt Lauer. "We know that we're doing good work, and it's a huge load of confidence for us."

The series has received stellar ratings since it first premiered last year. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it was the number one new original cable drama last year, and Tuesday's broadcast was the largest original cable premiere this year.
