Keys tells Wendy Williams her blended family works "when everybody is able to be an adult."
A very pregnant Alicia Keys visited Wendy Williams to promote her new children's book, Blue Moon: From the Journals of Mama Mae & LeeLee, and talk about how she's been able successfully blend her growing family with Swizz Beat and his ex-wife Mashonda Tifrere. Keys is currently expecting her second child with her husband, and says "the kids" make it easier to blend the two families together.
"When everybody is able to be an adult, which we all are able to be, and we’re able to recognize that actually there’s a beautiful value about the way that we can all influence each other’s lives and the lives of the kids so that they can really see that they can have more than one woman to look to and say, ‘what can I learn here? What can I learn there?’” she said. “It’s really, really important and I think it’s so beautiful….it doesn’t always work, but it’s totally possible and it can work when everyone wants to do the right thing for the children and for each other.”
Keys, Tifrere, Swizz Beats, and their children Egypt and Kasseem were spotted vacationing together at Nikki Beach in St. Barts, and later at a birthday party in New York.
Keys wouldn't reveal the sex of her current pregnancy (not that Williams didn't try to trick it out of her), but she did say the new baby is due in late December.
