Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said women shouldn't ask for raises, but instead, they should just practice good karma and wait.
Asking for a raise can be a slightly awkward conversation. You don't want to come off like you're giving your boss an ultimatum, but there are times when getting more money is a must.
But according to Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, women shouldn't have to ask for raises. While speaking at a conference on women in technology, Nadella said he believed that for women, "it's not really about asking for the raise, but knowing and having faith that the system will actually give you the right raises as you go along." Nadella went on to say that women should practice "good karma" and wait it out.
But not everyone feels that way. How do you go about asking for a raise? Do you wait until your annual meeting or until you nailed a major project? Do you ask when you find out your counterparts are making more or when you have bills on bills on bills? Take our poll and let us know.
