A Jacksonville, Florida jury has found Michael Dunn guilty of first-degree murder in the 2012 shooting for African-American teen, Jordan Davis.

The jury took a little over five hours to reach the verdict, reports the Associated Press.

Back in February a separate jury found Dunn guilty of four charges, including three for attempted second-degree murder, but was hung on the murder charge tied to Davis’ death.

Dunn opened fire at a vehicle carrying Davis, 17, and several friends following an argument about loud music.

The prosecution accused Dunn of being the aggressor in the situation despite his claim that he fired because he feared for his life, citing the fact that he kept shooting even after the teens drove away from the scene. Investigators also never found a weapon on Davis or in the car.

Following the verdict, Davis’ father said, “We must do a better job of loving each other.”
