Today's brides are bending the rules. What non-traditional elements would you include in your big day?
Traditional weddings are becoming a thing of the past. Today's brides are bending the rules by opting for exotic ceremony locations versus churches, nixing matching bridesmaid dresses, wearing no makeup, and more.
Take Kelly Rowland's rumored wedding. The singer is said to have secretly married her beau Tim Witherspoon in a quick and simple ceremony in Costa Rica in front of only 30 or so loved ones. There's also Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie who are letting their kids plan their wedding. "It's going to be Disney or paintball—one or the other," said Jolie.
Celebrities aren't the only ones pushing the boundaries. Each week we see the couples in ESSENCE.com's Bridal Bliss franchise finding ways to add non-traditional elements to their wedding — one couple even opted for a "trash the dress" photo shoot during which they jumped in the lake to get a great action shot for their album.
