The show will break down the rise of the 1980's crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles.
John Singelton has been tapped to direct and co-write a new Showtime drama series titled Snowfall.
According to Deadline, the show breaks down the rise of the 1980's crack cocaine epidemic in Los Angeles through the eyes of a young African-American kid from Compton, a Mexican wrestler, and a CIA agent.
The project, described as Boyz In The Hood meets The Wire, captures the story of CIA involvement in the drug trade and how it changed Los Angeles.
Singleton will also Executive Produce the series with fellow L.A. native Eric Amadio in hopes to bring an authentic air to the show.
