A judge has ruled in favor of Jay Z in a $600 million trademark lawsuit this week. The judge ruled that Jay is not responsible for ignoring legal papers served by Dr. Francois De Cassagnol who claims that the rapper ripped of the name "Brooklyn Nets." [Radar]
Scandal star Columbus Short has been ordered to stay away from a man that he reportedly assualted following a bar fight that took place last month. After turning himself in, Short was charged with aggravated battery. At a hearing Monday, Short who is out on $50,000 bail, was ordered to stay away from the man. If convicted he faces up to four years behind bars. [TMZ]
Harvard has accepted a record percentage of Black Students for the Class of 2018. Out of the prestigious university's total acceptances for this year, 11.9 percent are Black. The Journal of Blacks in Higher Education estimates that nearly 170 Black students will enter Harvard this fall. [TheRoot]
John Legend is set to give a special performance to Citi ThankYou card members at L.A.'s Emerson Theatre on April 21 with proceeds going to Teach for America. Tickets will be available Saturday and the show will help lead up to his performance at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. [Billboard]
