The British Film Academy nominated the 12 Years a Slave actress for its Rising Star Award.
Lupita Nyong'o, 2013's breakout star, is among the nominees for the British Film Academy's Rising Star Award, reports The Huffington Post.
The actress' highly acclaimed debut as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave has garnered her much attention—including her recent win for the breakthrough performance award at the Palm Spring Film Festival.
Other nominees for the Rising Star Award include Blue is the Warmest Color actress Lea Seydoux, Dane DeHaan of Kill Your Darlings and British actors George MacKay and Will Poulter.
The winner will be decided by public vote and announced during the British Academy Film Awards on February 16th.
